The Professor Kai Yip Cho Memorial Scholarship award was first created in 2009 by means of a gift from Professor Cho’s family. Mrs Cho and her family established this scholarship award to recognise Professor Cho’s lifetime work and research in microbiology and mushrooms. Benefits of Professor Kai Yip Cho Memorial Scholarship
The University of Western Sydney will be granting a scholarship award, supplementing the candidate’s available scholarship award for full-time study by $7,500 (AUD) yearly. The add-on will be granted in two distinct payments on a weekly basis.
Eligibility for Professor Kai Yip Cho Memorial Scholarship
To be considered, the applicants have to meet all of the conditions listed below:
- Need to have commenced a PhD program at the University of Western Sydney in 2019 or 2020 in the field of microbiology or biochemistry, or be involved in a research project with a strong academic experience in one of those subjects;
- Be functioning as a graduate scholar on a scholarship.
- Academic language skills: Foreign candidates will typically have to take certain language tests in English language to meet the university criteria.
How to Apply for Professor Kai Yip Cho Memorial Scholarship
To be chosen for the scholarship program, applicants are required to be admitted into a PhD program at the West Sydney University. Once candidates have finished their application, they need to go to the official university website for comprehensive details on how to apply for a project scholarship award.
The candidate has to add his or her academic diplomas, grades, certificates, and CV with his or her application file.
Successful candidates will be needed to submit a yearly progress report every October of each year to Western Sydney University. This report will also be submitted to Mrs Cho. This report is on top of any standard research reporting criteria or milestones.
Unfinished applications or applications that do not follow the above conditions will not be given consideration.
