MIT SOLVE Challenge for Equitable Classrooms in USA 2021

Massachusetts Institute of Technology SOLVE in the USA is taking applications from entrepreneurs globally for the MIT SOLVE Challenge for Equitable Classrooms in 2021.

The MIT SOLVE Challenge for Equitable Classrooms is looking for technology-centred solutions that ensure all primary and high school learners have access to quality, safe, and reasonable learning environments. To that end, Solve seeks solutions that:

  • Improve the involvement of learners in remote, hybrid, and physical locations, including strategies and tools for parental assistance, peer relation, and guided autonomous work.
  • Facilitate access to quality learning involvements in low-connectivity settings—like imaginative play, collaborative projects, and applied experiments.
  • Facilitate the physical safety and mental health of learners—for instance, via tools for reporting violence, crisis support, and alleviating cyberbullying.
  • Help teachers to adapt their teaching, enable personalized instruction, and relate with students and their families in remote and hybrid settings.

Worth of MIT SOLVE Challenge for Equitable Classrooms

All solutions chosen for Solve’s five present Global Challenges will get a $10,000 grant awarded by Solve. Solver teams will be chosen by a committee of cross-sector judges at Virtual Solve Challenge Finals on September 19, 2021.

The ASA Prize for Equitable Education

American Student Assistance® (ASA) is devoted to assisting students know themselves, become aware of their options, and make good decisions to achieve their education and career objectives. Up to $250,000 will be awarded to or capitalized in solutions from the Digital Inclusion Challenge, the Equitable Classrooms Challenge, the Antiracist Technology in the US Challenge, and/or Indigenous Communities Fellowship.

The Andan Prize for Innovation in Refugee Inclusion:  As much as $100,000 will be awarded to up to four qualified Solver teams from across any of Solve’s present Global Challenges including MIT SOLVE Challenge for Equitable Classrooms.

Innovation for Women Prize: As much as $75,000 will be awarded across up to three Solver teams from any of Solve’s present Global Challenges.

The GM Prize

The GM Prize is available to solutions that assist to create smart, safe, and sustainable communities all over the world. The Prize is financed by General Motors, which is striving toward becoming the most inclusive organization in the world, and devoted to making STEM education more reachable and equitable. As much as $150,000 will be awarded to up to six beneficiaries from Equitable Classrooms, the Antiracist Technology in the US, and Resilient Ecosystems Challenges.

Eligibility for MIT SOLVE Challenge for Equitable Classrooms

  • In the near term, they require enhanced solutions for prevention, precise detection, and rapid response.
  • MIT Solve is looking for tech novelties that can reduce and track the spread of an emergent outbreak, for instance, by improving personal hygiene, creating low-cost rapid diagnostics, analysing data that influences decision making, and offering tools that support and safeguard health workers.
  • At the same time, they cannot completely treat disease epidemics reactively. Climate change and globalization leave us ever more exposed to future epidemics and pandemics, and it is critical to be ready.
  • Solve is also looking for solutions that concentrate on preventative and alleviation measures that reinforces access to cheap primary healthcare systems, improve disease surveillance systems, and advance healthcare supply chains.


  • Alignment: The solution tackles the problem that has been specified using technology.
  • Prospect for Impact: The planned execution of the solution has the prospect to influence lives.
  • Scalability: The solution can be developed and scaled to influence the lives of more people.
  • Feasibility: It is feasible to execute the solution, and the team has a strategy for the solution to support itself financially.
  • Innovative Approach: This is a novel technology, a novel application of a technology, a novel business model, or a novel procedure for solving the challenge
  • Partnership Potential: The candidate clearly describes how the solution would gain from the wide range of resources that the Solve community is positioned to offer.
