Amirana Scholarship at Heidelberg University in Germany 2022

Heidelberg University in Germany is welcoming candidates for Amirana Scholarship award for international students in the 2021/22 academic year.

The University of Heidelberg considers itself as a globally-oriented research and teaching institution with a broad range of subjects and disciplines, with a culture that assists in shaping the future. The university is devoted to her responsibility to people, society and nature and looks to improve her knowledge and skills in an open, bias-free attitude towards people and concepts, make them operational and pass them on to future generations.

As a globally active research university, Heidelberg University comprehends the high theoretical and methodological capability of its subjects and specialist cultures as an important feature of its scientific work.

Furthermore to her disciplinary strength, she also identifies her special potential, through partnership across the borders of the disciplines, to proficiently deal with complex situations that are central to forming the future and thus to undertake social responsibility. A huge part of the university research and teaching at the Ruperto Carola was combined thematically within the framework of the exceptional initiative of the federal and state governments under the umbrella of the major research areas, the “Fields of Focus”.

Thanks to a 2016 initiative by two former students from the United States, there is now a new financial support opportunity for studying Medicine and Dentistry at Heidelberg University: the Amirana Scholarship award.

The scholarship award was set up after a donation from Dr Annelene J. Amirana and Dr Mahomed T. Amirana. They got married after meeting in Heidelberg in the 1950s during their medical education and later on worked as doctors for many years in the US.

The study award can be applied for by candidates who have gotten into financial difficulties through no mistake of their own and who cannot proceed or successfully conclude their studies without financial assistance.

Application is also accepted from candidates who could not begin their studies without financial help. Successful matriculation at Heidelberg University is a requirement.

If you satisfy the funding conditions, please submit your credentials on time. They look forward to getting your application!
