Sacha Noam Baron Cohen was born in Israel on the 13th of November, 1971. Cohen’s father Gerald Baron Cohen, a clothing store owner, was born in London and raised in Wales. He was raised Jewish and he is fluent in Hebrew as well as his native English.
His family was German Jews who moved to Israel. Cohen’s grandfather, Morris Cohen added ‘Baron’ to his surname and his grandfather lives in Haifa, Israel, who was trained as a ballet dancer in Germany.

Cohen started modeling for several fashion magazines for a short time after he graduated from school.
In 1995, he auditioned for the profile of a presenter on Channel 4 by sending his tape as an Albanian television reporter. He was later selected and worked on many ‘Youth TV’ projects.
