Pua Magasiva was born as a twin on the 10th of August 1980 in Apia the largest city in Samoa a country in Oceania by his parents Salafa and Taufaiula Ropati Magasiva.
He was raised in Wellington, New Zealand with his four brothers and a sister. Pua has an elder brother the name Robbie Magasiva who is a renowned actor who has starred in most New Zealand movies.

Pua Magasiva got his inspiration to be an actor from his elder brother. He studied at St Patricks College and after graduation, he started taking up small act roles to boost his skills as an actor.
His career progressed gradually and he got the role of Elvis Iosefa in the film Shortland Street in 1999 marking the beginning of his career.
Pua made a remarkable improvement in his career and two years later got a role in the television series Aroha. The movie was aired live and in movie festivals which earned it mixed reviews but it didn’t fare badly.
However, he had his career breakthrough in the year 2003 in the kids and youth favorite Power Rangers: Ninja Storm a part of the power rangers franchise. Pua Magasiva played the role of Shane Clarke the Red Wind Ranger who is seen as the leader of the Power rangers.
The year 2003 had him get a role in the New Zealand television program Shortland Street where he played as Vinnie Kruse.
He played in the series for a period of three seasons before venturing into other works.
