Larry The Cable Guy born on 17th of February 1963, in Pawnee City, Nebraska. His parents are Tom and Shirley Whitney.

Larry’s father was a guitarist, entertainer, and Christian minister. He was raised on a pig farm and attended The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida. He graduated from Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach in the early ’80s.

 

He attended College at the Baptist University of America in Georgia, and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

He majored in drama and speech and also credits his roommates from Texas and Georgia for inspiring his Southern accent impression.

However, after trying out comedy, Larry dropped out of college during his Junior year.

Larry joined the Palm Beach Comedy Scene after quitting school and later in 1991, he began doing radio comedy. Eventually, the persona ‘Larry the Cable Guy‘ was born.

‘The Cable Guy’ became his trademark. And with his Southern accent, Larry engages in conservations about a variety of topics ranging from family stories to jokes on his radio presentations.

He even invented his own catchphrase “Git-R-Done!”. But despite his appearances on radio and doing comedy, Larry only became famous after he was invited by Jeff Foxworthy to join his ‘Blue Collar Comedy tour’.

The group was later joined by comedian Bill Engvall. And from, the group went on to achieve success so when the tour was released as a live comedy DVD, it sold over a million copies.

Moreover, Larry has also done some solo projects of his own as well, releasing two comedy CDs titled ‘Lord, I Apologize for (2001)’ and ‘The Right to Bear Arms (2005)’ which were huge successes.

 

Both albums got gold certification by the RIAA. And his third album was released in 2007 titled ‘Morning Constitution’.

Larry later decided to bring his Larry the Cable Guy to cinemas all over the country by releasing the “Larry the Cable Guy: Health inspector” in 2006. A year later, Larry appeared in “Witless Protection”.
